Basic sewing supplies (including thread, pins, scissors and seam ripper)

Sewing machine in good working order

Extension cord

Iron and small ironing board

Rotary cutter, mat, and ruler (6” x 24” Omnigrid recommended)

Batting for work-wall (36” x 36” is large enough)

Notebook, pencil and colored pencils

 

Book – Bargello Quilts with a Twist by Maggie Ball (Krause Publications, 2008). I will bring books to class, if you would like to purchase a personalized autographed copy.

 

Fabric quantities are those needed to make the 16 blocks that we’ll work on during the workshop.  Finished 16-block quilt with borders is about 36” x 36”.  If you’d like to make a bigger quilt with 36, or 64 blocks, you’ll need more fabric…

·         8-10 fabrics - ¼ or ½ yard pieces, (preferably full-width, not fat quarters).  Include a wide range of values from light to dark. A variety of print scales is also good. If you have trouble choosing, start with a multicolored theme print and add fabrics to go with it. Try to avoid a completely monochromatic selection.
